Triffles Bakers
Triffles Bakers is a speciality cake and cookie shop based in Ashton-under-Lyne and Bury in Manchester. Presented as a gourmet cake shop, Trifles is famous for its speciality cakes for weddings, birthdays, christenings and other joyous family occasions as well as sweet delights for corporate events and seasonal celebrations such as Christmas and Easter.
Every order is created with love and obsessive attention to all the tiny details which make a cake truly special. From the design itself to the fresh, quality ingredients, nothing is left to chance by Trifles’ experienced confectioners. Whether it’s one of Trifles’ regular designs or a custom design with input from the customer, the result is always perfect.
Trifles’ unique concept was the dream of Faizal Nekiwala, previously a successful businessman, who decided on early retirement to spend more time with his wife and kids. The family kitchen became his favourite place and baking his hobby. Wandering the narrow streets of Ashton three years ago, he came across a pretty bakery and coffee shop and, to the astonishment of the owner, immediately offered to buy it!
Thus, with Faizal’s love of baking, Trifles was born. At first, establishing a brand was far from Faizal’s mind, but his passion for baking cakes soon led him to New York’s famous Baking School where he earned a qualification as a cake decorator. His uniquely designed custom cakes soon established their brand by themselves, helped along by the bakery’s website, triflesbakers.co.uk.
Nowadays, Triffles Bakers is run by manager Michelle Griffin, with Faizal concentrating on his custom-deigned cakes for all occasions. A second store run by Faizal’s brother Immy is now open in Bury, just north of Manchester, and is proving highly popular, as is the design facility on triflesbakers.co.uk. Further expansion is on the cards with a franchise model aimed at taking the brand nationwide.
